Description: Up for sale is this fantastic and very hard to find Victorian Unger Brothers Sterling Silver Postal Scale. The antique piece measures from 1 ounce to 16 ounces (1 pound). Has a celluloid dial. Wonderful period Art Nouveau inspired design. Seems to be in working condition although I did not test the calibration. Measures about 5 1/4 inches X 2 1/4 inches and 3 1/4 inches high. Fancy monogram (DK) on the scale plate. Fully marked by Unger Brothers with "STERLING SILVER" on the bottom. Has a patent date of 1898...a true antique!! Could use a cleaning but we will leave this up to the buyer at the request of Previous buyers of such items as this from us in the past. A minor small dent/bend at the back left corner, probably can be easily fixed but we will, again, leave this to the buyer (see last 2 pictures). Print on the celluloid front is worn but numbers are readable. A great and very rare piece!! We do not determine shipping costs!
