Description: Please email with any questions. Estate purchased circa 1899 oval convex picture frame, 24 1/2" by 18 1/2" outside measurement, 19" by 13" inside. The framed image is an excellent copy of an original that is attached to the back of the frame. Apparently it was brittle and torn but the image was very nicely reproduced and a family member carefully wrote the names of the man and woman and some of their descendants on the dust cover on the back. The wooden frame is ornamented with gesso scrolls and flowers. The finish is a bit dirty and what was originally bright gold is darkened. Slight loss on some of the gesso but nothing distracting. A little gentle cleaning and some rub n Buff would do wonders for its appearance.
